Artist Statement
I consider myself a contemporary realist and the pieces presented here are a declaration of my artistic pursuits. My aim is to impact the viewer by striking a balance between strong conceptual skills and solid technique. I tend to gravitate towards art that has a narrative and possesses meaning – work with substance. A common thread that connects my art is my affection for beauty, sensuous color, and dynamic composition. Primarily, I am focused on the accurate representation of the human figure, which I regard as a bridge in my paintings, enabling me to transport the viewer into my imaginary realms. In addition, I like to produce artwork that creates visual tension and challenges the viewer’s expectations through the employment of altered settings, juxtaposed forms, and texture.
